Ingame HUD

There are two ideas for the HUD. One is a single Health bar in the top centre of the screen. The other idea is to have no permanent HUD this will free up the view as well as help immerse the player in the game better.

Controller Setup

Game Play Mechanics

The basic arena had pillars added to it to add more depth to the play game of this level. Breaks up the line of sight to you opponent through out the battle. This give player that are not ranged to have a chance at get to the enemy.

The woodlands arena gives the players a different arena with a different play style. this map give the players a open field of view while still having cover for the melee character to close the distance on ranged opponents.

The Mountain Arena gives advantages to those players that can make it to the top the fastest. this gives ranged character a view of the map where melee characters get the ability to charge at any part of the map as well as giving all character types the ability to retreat to safety quickly.

Multiple Maps

 The game will have a few different maps that the players will fight across. This is to add differing aspects to the combat style.

The basic arena:
This map will be a bare with a dirt floor.

Woods Arena:
This map will be themed after a woodland area.

Mountain Arena:
This map will be themed after a mountainous area.

Characters

The players Character:
The player’s character is designed completely by the player. All the physical attributes of the character will be able to be modified.

Taylor:
Taylor is the trainer that the player can buy new skills from. He will be about 200cm tall, muscular and be bald. He will wear an armoured chest piece and long cargo style pants.

Anderson:
Anderson is the arenas champion. He will stand 230cm tall, very muscular and be covered is scars. He will be the final opponent in the single player.

Game Proposal

The concept of the game is the player is plays a as gladiator. The game is set in an alternate timeline where gladiators still are one of the main forms of entertainment. It is set in the present.  There is no back story to the game as it is based more around you becoming the best gladiator. The player will be able to level up as they defeat opponents. Levelling up will give them access to better equipment to buy as well as new skills to learn. The game will have a multiplayer feature where the player will fight against each other to get the number one spot on the leader board.

The delivery platform for this game will be on the Xbox 360. This is because the game will be a casual game. The genre of this game is a FPS action game. The game is aimed at players of the FPS RPG games.

Characters

The game will have very few characters as a lot of the story will be relieved by the player finding audio logs, documents detailing the lead up the the outbreak.

Taylor:
Taylor's appearance will be designed by the player at the start of the game along with his first name. The character will star the game wearing current special forces gear. 

Zombie:
The zombies will have a variety of different styles. The zombies have the clothing that reflects the area of the map you are in e.g office buildings the zombies will be wearing business suits etc.


Dr. Taylor:
Dr. Taylor is the main characters wife. She will be the voice of the audio logs as well as the writer for the documents.

Back Story

The back story of the game is that there has been a zombie outbreak. The infection has been quarantined inside the city. The main character and the rest of his squad are sent to a in to the city to evacuate several key assets from the city. The first person to be evacuated is the president. During the operation the main character is forced to stay behind to cover his squads retreat with the president.  The president is safely evacuated leaving the main character to fight his way through the horde to the next group which his squad is set to evacuate.
